Laura Calligari born in Livorno in 1978. She studied and graduated from the Art School and after some experience in contemporary art she studied and graduated in architecture in Florence. Thus began to take his first steps in the world of design. In 2010 he founded an online magazine dedicated to the world of product design and interior design. After a few years, the Atelier Macramè project was born, through which the designer expresses all her sensitivity and professional knowledge in the furniture sector. In 2014 the collection of Trame trays, entirely made with laser cutting technology, became part of the permanent collection of Materioteca collection in Milan. In 2015 he took part in Open Design Italia with his first collections in Trento. The following year in 2016, one of the collections she designed, Bakery Stool, made of turned wood, is among the projects selected by Silvana Annicchiarico for the W. Women in Italian Design exhibition at the Milan Triennale. The collaboration with small artisan realities continues, alternating periods of study and research on various materials. Fundamental moments for the birth of the Atelier Macramè collections. In 2016 he was again among the designers selected to participate in Vicenza at Open Design Italia, a showcase that offers the opportunity for the collections to be subsequently exhibited in Vienna and Prague at the Italian Cultural Institute for the project Il Design è Nutriente. After various participations in the Fuori Salone in June 2019 he is among the exhibiting designers at the first edition of EDIT Napoli, an event dedicated to editorial and author design curated by Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli. In 2019, paired with the artisan Cecilia Falcia, expert in the processing of scagliola, she participates in and wins ex -equo the first edition of the Bottega Strozzi Award promoted by the OMA Association with Bottega Strozzi with the Leon project, pin and ear wrap for smartphones.
